Wardrobe weekly briefly

I was only at work for 3 days this week so this is a little bit sparse!

Wednesday
Cardi & leggings 20 - Primark
Dress 24 - Asos Curve
Boots - shop in Camberwell

Thursday
I'm happy to have got this dress in the 24, and that it stretched out to be a much looser fit... I'm bored of bodycon at the moment!
Dress - George
Leggings XL - H&M
Boots - Dorothy Perkins

Friday
I've had these jeans for ages, and I thought it was about time to try them out.
I like the way they look, but after wearing them for a day I've decided that they're not the right shape for me. the waist is a bit too big on me but the thighs are really tight which makes sitting down rather uncomfortable! They have a bit of stretch, but they're not what I would call 'stretchy'. I think I will have to stick with Dorothy Perkins for jeans!
Top & cardi 20 - Primark
Jeans 24 - Tesco True
Shoes - Charity shop

Saturday
Saturday was our day out to stuff our faces with meat. Bodeans was recommended by many twitter people so that's where we went. I completely forgot to take pictures because when the food arrived I was too excited and just wanted to eat it! This dress is excellent for wearing out if you're going to be eating messy food... wipe clean!
Dress 24 - Asos Curve
Leggings 20, earrings and boots - Primark

Tale as old as time

Oh Asos, my love for you is deep, but you do drive me completely insane sometimes! All the items below are size 24 fyi.
Me and this dress, we just don't work! I felt like Violet from Charlie and the chocolate factory when she turned into a giant blueberry! On top of this, I have realised that I just cannot cope with sequins. They are so itchy, scratchy and uncomfortable. I felt like I was being grated!
If you like sequins then I have to say that in terms of looks these are really amazing. Length-wise this dress also feels too short for me.
This is where the waist sits on me. Too hight, and really loose compared to the size of the bust.
This is how I needed it to fit! Never mind, it's not like I have any idea where I would wear this anyway!
I've wanted this dress since I first laid eyes on it, but it was so pricey that I resisted it for ages, I finally caved when it went on sale and was SO excited about it arriving.....
Then it arrived, and I HATE IT! The fabric and design is amazing, but the fit is terrible! Where have my shoulders gone? It probably doesn't help that it's well tight on the top of my arms, but have you noticed the thing that I'm most pissed about? Spot the difference? WHY ARE THE SLEEVES THIS STUPID LENGTH? THE DRESS IN THE PICTURE HAS LONG FUCKING SLEEVES! WHY HAS THE CURVE VERSION GOT THESE STUPID SLEEVES?!

I AM SO TIRED OF GETTING A DIFFERENT VERSION OF THE DRESS TO THE ONE IN THE PHOTOGRAPH!

And again, the waist is really high! Despite getting the 24, this still feels tight against my bust too.
I feel like a clown in this, and it makes me feel a bit sad because the embroidery is truly beautiful. If this was available as a skirt I would snap it up, but this dress, in this cut, with these sleeves.... it just doesn't work on me :(  P's, When I went to get the link for this I noticed that they have re-photographed the real curve version on a different model, and frankly I would never have ordered it if I'd seen those pictures!
On to something much more positive now! I didn't know how I was going to feel about this dress, because some bloggers loved it, and others hated it. I'm in the love camp personally. I like how casual it is, and I love the razor edges of the soft leather (it's not hemmed).
This is a proper midi-length on me, quite far below the knee, so I can even imagine wearing it without tights when it gets warmer. The t-shirt is a nice thick fabric and it's very stretchy.
This is the size 24 and I like the fit, it's a bit loose and very comfy, but I could easily have fitted the 22 as the waist band is stretchy and the leather is soft and flexible. I'm keeping this, I think I might prefer it to the other Asos Leather dress I got, but we'll see how I feel once I've worn them both out!
This bomber jacket is okay, but it's too long for my liking. It's non-stretch satin-like fabric. The colour is lovely and it's nice and lightweight, but it's not for me!
I could have done this up, but it took me so long to undo the fiddly buttons that there was no way I was going to do it up when I was wearing it! There's a lot to be said for zips.
So there you go, one out of three isn't too bad! By the way, these are my new flats from New Look. I love them with a passion. I've been looking for some nice nude shoes for about 3 years (honestly, they're always high heels or super uncomfortable!) and these were in my basket instantly! I sized up from a 7 to an 8 in these, because my stupid wide feet get mega pinched in pointed shoes otherwise!

Stoked!

Oh my god did I find some awesome stuff in Primark tonight! I suggest that you all get down there pronto!
Errrr..... did I find a quilted jumper for £8 and a scuba midi skirt for £12? Yes I fucking did! This sweater is so lovely, warm and comfy! It's a size 20 and I'm chuffed I found it because I've been wanting a white jumper for ages, and this will be nice with smart and casual clothes! Size 20 & stretchy.
I have been waiting for what feels like aeons for ASOS to start making thier scuba midi skirts in the curve range. Still no sign, and even if they did they'd cost me £40, so I cannot even begin to tell you how overjoyed I was to find this skirt in a 20 in the Tottenham court road Primark. I already know I'm going to wanna wear this all the time!
It's just below the knee on me, and it's stretchy and delicious! Size 20.
When my friend was describing a restaurant to me the other day, she said there was a girl in there wearing a My Little Pony top.... this was code for 'full of hipster-types' and I think she was taking the piss, but I was like 'Dammit! I want a My Little Pony top!'. She reads this blog sometimes so now she can see how excited I was to find one!
This sweater is a size 20 and cost £10. It's stretchy and generous, and I LOVE IT! If I could find some rainbow bright stuff I'd be even happier!
The shoes are actually from Primark too, I got them from the Marble Arch store a few weeks ago, and they're ace. I think they were £6.
I also got some good ghetto-tastic jewellery. All the earrings are cool, but I'm particularly excited about the big necklace, because I love big necklaces but I can't bear wearing heavy things round my neck, so finally finding a big lightweight necklace is fabulous!
I am so very chuffed with my Primark finds tonight..... can you tell?!

Holiday Wishlist

When it comes to holiday wear, I think I'm generally sorted. This summer was pretty hot so I now have a nice variety of maxi dresses and midi dresses, and lots of shorts to wear underneath to prevent summer chafing! I also got a couple of awesome swimsuits this year, but for a week long holiday I'm thinking I might need some more. In an ideal world my holiday wardrobe would consist of these....
First up from Forever 21+ is this delicious Kimono jacket. Would be so good with a black jumpsuit!
Speaking of jumpsuits, I think this Pink Clove one might be just what I've been looking for; perfect for a hot summer evenings drinking in a taverna somewhere huh?! I might have to make a sneaky purchase to try it out!
For the beach though, I always go with a bandeau so I can pull it on and off easily. This Resort jersey jumpsuit from very is so much like my favourite one from forever 21+, but better for lounging because it's stretchy!
I have been stalking this new look inspire dress ever since it first arrived on the website... as soon as it is available to buy (as opposed to 'preview') it will be mine!
I am most definitely in the market for a loose fitting lightweight shirt dress this summer. I can imagine sitting and reading a book on the beach in this Asos curve number!

I always like to have a special dress with me on holiday, because we will always have a special date night after finding a romantic restaurant, and I like to get all pretty! This Joe Browns dress from Simply Be is just so cute. The colour and the clashing belt is perfect, and halternecks are so flattering.
I can't do short skirts because my thighs chafe like mad, and I can't do shorts because I look like a knobber in them, so culottes are the answer. They just have to be long enough to stop my legs rubbing together and I'm happy! I like this simple little Asos curve pair!
I have a real soft spot for plazzo trousers, they make me feel so summery! This super wide Evans pair are the perfect trousers to keep cool in on a beach holiday!
I'd want something super lightweight to go with the trousers and shorts. I'm not much of a vest girl so I'd go for something like this Yours shirt.
Everyone should have Kaftan for the beach. I have a beautiful vintage one myself, but Ebay is the best place to get a good Kaftan, I really love this one!

There's no point in taking beautiful shoes on holiday with me, I want comfort. There is nothing worse than having sore feet when I'm trying to explore (particularly as my boyfriend could walk all day, and even in comfortable shoes my feet need a break every few hours!). I always have a pair of croc flip flops for walks and the beach. I've yet to get a pair of 'sexi' crocs, but they are next on my list!

If you were reading my blog during the summer months, you would have noticed that I basically LIVE in Ipanema Flip Flops when it's hot. They're more dainty than other flip flops and also more comfortable. I'm desperate to add this butterfly pair to my collection!

Obviously one of the most important things to take on a beach holiday is swimwear. I have the amazing Clements Ribeiro Evans swimsuit, and a sexy halterneck from Bon Marche, but I've gotten rid of my other suits because they were rubbish! Bon Marche is my place for cossies nowadays, it's the only place I can find that sells cheap plus size swimwear, and I don't wanna spend £50 on something I'll only wear a couple of times! I really like the look of this one, and the detachable straps will come in handy for sunbathing.
I want to replace my Evans swim dress because I don't like the fit. If I'm gonna wear a dress then I want it to look like a mini dress, not just a long top! I love the red flowers on this one, and the gathering on the bust looks like it would give great cleavage too!

Someone pass me my factor 30 and some Jackie O sunglasses, stat!

Birthday gurrrrl

I turned 32 today, and although technically all my out-of-the-house celebrations are taking place tomorrow / the weekend and I'm staying in tonight, that never stops me dressing all nice in celebration of my birthday! The Boyf bought me these beautiful flowers, and I've had a lush day at home. Anyway I thought this might be a good opportunity to show you the shoes I got a few months back... they haven't featured on the blog yet so I'm excited 'cause I love them!
Earrings - V&A
Dress 24 - Asos Curve
Tights XL - Primark 100 den
Shoes - Tracey Neuls

I'm wearing a couple of Ebay buys here, both of which I love!
I wanted this dress for ever, and was sure I'd manage to get it for cheap in the Asos sales, but after about a year of it sitting in my wishlist (and still being well expensive!) it sold out in a 24 and there was no way I was going to be able to get a 22 done up over my norks... it's a shirt dress after all!
Happily I managed to get it on ebay for cheap (extremely cheap in fact, since the seller posted it to me soaking wet and reeking of cigarettes & fabreeze!) and although I was a bit worried that it would be a bit too short for me it's actually a pretty nice length... a few inches above me knees, which is perfect for full skirts!
On to my goddam awesome shoes. I love Tracey Neuls shoes and if I could afford more of her designs I would wear them everyday! As it is I can't really justify the price, no matter how much I love them, so I can only get them during sample sales or from ebay, and these turned up on ebay shortly after the last sample sale (which I missed... ARGH!) so I was stoked to win these!
The thing with Tracey's shoes is that they're such cool and unusual designs, but they're weirdly comfortable. I have 3 pairs now and I love them all!
The colour is so delicious.... I think my burning desire to own red shoes when I was a little girl (which I wasn't allowed!) has never really left me, so I find these very exciting!

Ahhhh man these are dream shoes! There are a couple of pairs I want in her sale at the moment too, but at over £100 each I'm not sure if I'd get enough ware out of them..... I shouldn't have looked! I might have to go to the store and try them. Slippery slope!
These are some of my favourite earrings that I got from the V&A Hollywood Costume Exhibition, they're big, and yellow, and therefore I love them.... obviously!

I took a couple of days off over my birthday, mainly so I could stay home (in bed) and watch all the crappy films I've fancied watching but haven't found time for (because I don't wanna force my boyfriend to watch chick flicks!) so just for balance, this was me yesterday, keeping it casual!
You better believe I keep my flat warm enough for flip flops when I'm home during the day! The joys of getting dressed after lunch!
Jumper & trousers 18 - Primark
Flips - Crocs

Right, my fella is about to come home, so I'm off to have some birthday fun (which will include Cherry Coke, Galaxy and chow mein... amongst other things!)
