Wardrobe weekly

 Monday
I don't need an excuse to wear Anna Scholz double silk.
It seemed to match my hair quite well
Dress 22 - Anna Scholz White Label

 Tuesday
I wore this Domino Dollhouse dress because I realised that I haven't worn it for ages and I was deciding whether to keep it or sell it.
Dress 2XL - Domino Dollhouse
Leggings 20 - Primark

Wednesday
Ummmm ping pong forever.
SO I had a couple of minutes to take some proper photographs of my outfit on Wednesday....
I was glad to be able to get a decent shot of my new coat - It's one of the only things I kept from my mammoth H&M+ order. It's from the sale and is now sold out I'm afraid, but it's a size 28 (ahem) and it's just what I was looking for.
So you can see my cellulite ridden thighs in these trousers, but do I care? Hell no!
I fact I love these trousers and I already can't wait to wear them again.... this time in an even more obnoxious way!
I like them with grey, so I wore my newish jumper and my glittery lightning bolt earrings.
Coat 28 - H&M+
Jumper 3XL - Forever 21+
Trousers 24 - George
Boots - Primark
Earrings - Black Heart Creatives (bespoke)

Thursday
I hadn't been an aztec cowgirl for a while, so it was time!
I only ever seem to wear this shirt with this skirt?!
I thought I'd tie the shirt up rather than tuck it in so it would be a bit more interesting.
Rope detail!
Shirt size? - Vintage
Skirt 20 - Primark
Leggings XL - H&M
Boots - Primark

 Friday
I decided to wear my kelly Brook for Simply Be dress on Friday for a date with my boyfriend.
This is one of the comfiest pretty dresses that I own, and it's quite thick fabric so it's good for this time of year.
Plenty of room in the skirt for a big belly!
Too cold for sleeveless so I had to add a little cardi!
Dress 22 - Simply Be
Cardi 18 - Dorothy Perkins
Tights XL - Primark 100 den
Boots - Taking Shape

Saturday
I can't show you my valentines outfit because it's for our eyes only. Valentines was also my boyfriends 30th birthday - witness his magnificent birthday omelette!
I changed in the evening into something more sensible
Jumpsuit 24 - George
Cardi 20 - Primark

Sunday

Duffled!

The ladies at Taking Shape are so sweet.... I told them I was looking for a coat with a hood that would fit my rather large bottom, and they sent me the duffle coat I liked to review! I'm such a lucky girl!
Oh my god I love it! I'm not saying that because it was given to me to review, I'm saying it because I totally love it!
I really liked this on the site, but it looks much shorter on the model (who I'm sure is WAY taller than me). It's so much better in real life because of it's totally excellent length.
Hoods should never be undervalued in the UK. I just don't understand why so few winter coats have hoods. I wore this coat to work today and had the hood up pretty much the whole time because of the constant drizzle! I'm also impressed with the pockets which are deep. This is excellent for me - room for my massive phone and I don't have to worry about my oyster card falling out when I'm sitting on the tube!
So then, on to the specifics! This is a size 24. I tend to wear a size 22 in taking shape dresses, but I pretty much always have to wear a size 24 in coats. This is almost entirely because of my bottom and belly. I like to have room for big jumpers too, so I like a bit of space. This size 24 is a good fit....
One of the things I love most about this that the sleeves are generous. I often find coats too tight on my upper arms, so it's always a joy to find coats that don't cut of my circulation at the armpit! The sleeves are also long (good for when I forget my gloves) which is great for me, but may make them too long for shorter ladies. You could fold them up easily enough though.
I have to say that I do like a long coat. This is ideal as a) it's warmer and b) it covers my bum if my skirt rides up or I'm walking up stairs!
To quote Harry Hill, You like the lining don't you sir, hmm? hmm? you like the lining? hmm?!
I'm hearing the theme tune to Jonathan Creek......

This coat is warm, comfy and it kept me dry today. It's a winner! Get it here, I think I'll be wearing mine to death this winter!

Booties

Let me tell you a story. At the tender age of 13 (back in the days when my parents were still buying my clothes) a Faith shoes outlet store opened near my home town. All the cool girls had shoes from Shelly's or Faith. Clarks was for losers and that's where my mum made me buy my shoes! By the time I was in comprehensive school I could pursued my folks to buy me cool shoes because they were cheap and cheerful. On one of our trips to the outlet village I found some black leather boots with thick rubber soles and low, chunky curved silver heels. I don't think I've ever loved footwear the way I loved those boots, but they betrayed me. The bottom of the heel kept falling off. Nothing could get them to stay on.... not pins, not superglue, nothing. So they were exchanged.  Then it happened again. Exchanged.  Happened again.  My dad was quite rightly sick of my boots by that point and they were returned for a refund and I never saw them again. I never got over it, I've thought about those boots on and off ever since! All I wanted in life was a pair of comfy leather boots with metallic heels!

20 years later....

I was having a browse on the Taking Shape website recently, when i saw something that made my heart skip a beat..... some boots with metallic heels. Not in itself an unusual product but when I expand on what they actually are you might understand my excitement; they're black leather ankle boots that are wide on the foot, large around the ankle and the metallic heel was an entirely sensible height in a Cuban block shape. Proper plus size boots in other words!

I had to have them

They're not cheap at £99, but neither am I when it comes to something that excites me this much. I waited for a discount code and ordered them in a size 7, keeping my fingers crossed that their sizing was accurate.....

Oh wow these are lovely boots. Perfect sizing, soft and supple leather, totally comfortable heel height and extremely well padded on the inside. I think these are going to become my favorite boots in no time!

It's hard to photograph the heel. It's like a pewter colour and it's very shiny and reflective, but not so bright that they're too flashy. Love love love!

They have a good rubbery sole with decent grips. I'm glad of this because as much as I love my Asos black shoes boots, they're a bit dodgy in the rain! Hopefully these will keep me upright!

The boots themselves are really lovely and curvy. They have a sculptural feel about them and do up with a flap that wraps across the foot. It adheres with a posh version of velcro! the back of the boot has an elasticated section for extra comfort and to allow for a larger ankle.

These are the perfect smart boots for girls like me with wide feet and big ankles. They would fit bigger ankles than mine easily even when completely done up, but the wrap front means you could just wear them looser if you have very big ankles. These are such quality boots, totally worth the price tag and I thoroughly recommend them. Using the website was easy, the delivery was quick and efficient and everything was very well packaged. I've bought from the Taking Shape Kingston store, and the company have very kindly sent me items to review in the past, but this was the first time I have ordered from them online. I'm so impressed with the service!

I'll have to keep a closer eye on the Taking Shape footwear section from now on!

Wardrobe Weekly

Monday
I dunno. This is one of those dresses that everyone else really likes but I'm still not sure about.
I wore it because I wanted to work out if I actually do like it one me. The problem I have is that the under skirt before the sheer black section is so short that it only just covers my arse, so I am constantly worried that everyone can see my shorts underneath. I think I might have to accept that this dress isn't one I'm comfortable in!

Tuesday
this is the first time I've worn this dress to work - I was glad I did as it was HOT on Tuesday evening.
I got these shoes from Primark a while ago and was worried they might rub my feet a bit (pee-toe styles generally do) but they were actually very comfy. Love them!

Wednesday
The face that I even managed to put clothes on on Wednesday meant that I achieved something! I woke up almost an hour late so I didn't have time to wash my hair or think about outfits!
As it turns out I kinda like this outfit anyway, even if it was a little hodge-podge! I still love these shoes because they're mega comfy. I was tempted to get the white pair too, but I resisted. If they bring them out in gold I won't be able to resist though!
I really like the fact this top is plain, because I have loads of patterened trousers but hardly any plain tops that aren't t-shirts. I've wanted something a bit more fancy for ages!

Thursday
There are a couple of new things here that I have neglected to put on my blog. One is the Dorothy Perkins skirt I got recently (which has sold out from what I can tell) and some new shoes from Primark.
I can't normally get into Dorothy Perkins skirts so I normally don't btohrer ordering them. This one had reviews saying that it was very oversized though, and I decided to give it a go since it was only £7 in the sale. Check it! I would normally take a 24 in non-elasticated skirts, but this size 22 is about the same size as the size 26 skirt I have from Asos Curve! See, worth trying things and very worth reading all the reviews!
The shoes are not from the wide range but they fit my feet really well. Primark points are flexible and wide generally speaking. These are navy and silver but I also got the black and pewter paint. They come in a nude-ish cream colour too which I found it hard to resist!

Friday
I normally belt this dress, but I was having burgers for lunch so I wanted looseness!
I panicked in the morning abou twhich shoes to wear because the weather forecast rain, so in the end I just went with my gold slippers because I have massive gold hoop earrings on!

I'll do a proper post about my whole glasses fiasco asap, but to keep it short and sweet I ordered some prescription glasses online from Goggles4u to see what the quality would be like & I was really impressed! This is my first pair and I've now ordered a range of shapes & sizes (I need big frames / lenses for work!) so I'll show you them all when they arrive!
I'm watching you, Wazowski. Always watching.....

Saturday
I really only got dressed to day because I had 4 massive parcels to take to the collect+ store (so many returns!) but in the end my boyfriend took them for me. That's love that is. Plus I was cooking dinner, so you know, fair do's!
