It's always a special day when I wear this amazing vintage dress. This is actually from Evans in the 70's (did you know they've been going since the 30's?!) and I have to say, if the modern Arcadia version of Evans made stuff like this I would shop there much more often!
I much prefer this dress with my hair up, but I left my hair dying 'till this weekend so my white hairs were crazy (they're all round my hairline!) so I kept it down.

Thursday
I felt the urge to dress in all black on Thursday, which is a rare occurrence these days..... I do tend to think of it as the fat girl uniform, but in the right circumstances it can be super chic. Simply Be very kindly invited me to their Anna Scholz soiree, and I jumped at the chance because it was at her studio and I knew I'd get to see loads of exciting things and people.

Chatting to the lovely Anna Scholz. I believe I told her that her clothes were 'fucking beautiful'.... that's what a few glasses of prosecco and a bit of double silk will do to my brain, I swore at my favourite designer! I stand by what I said though, the new collection is stunning frankly!
One of the dresses I tried, isn't it lovely! Well out of my price range at £420 but if you have cash to splash then this one is already available on the site here. P's I stole the pictures above from the Anna Scholz facebook page!
I also tried on the spectacular 70's print double silk kaftan maxi dress that Amanda is wearing here.... it's very beautiful and will be coming online soon. WANT!
The other dress I was particularly taken with was this one, worn by Gemma (who very kindly gave me permission to steal the two photos above from her blog!). I have a big list of delicious items that I want from both Simply Be & Anna Scholz black / white labels now! I couldn't try the Simply Be pieces because they didn't have my size, but my favorite pieces were...
 .... This delicious dress!
 This beautiful coat!
This (twit-twoooo!) basque. More to add to my wish list! I got to meet loads of bloggers who's blogs I read, and a few bloggers that I didn't know (who's blogs have just been added to my read-list!) Thanks to the Simply Be team for inviting me, and thanks for the macaroons!

Friday
I made an effort to wear something valentines-appropriate, but to be honest this valentines day was a cold and wet blow-out thanks to a hungover boyfriend (the danger of free booze!). I was still quite pleased with this outfit though. I had considered selling this Lovedrobe dress, but I realised that I just didn't like the big collar, so I cut it off and now I'm loving this coral beauty!
Dress 26 - Lovedrobe
Belt - From another dress from forever 21+
Leggings 20 - Primark
Shoe-boots - Asos

 Saturday
Dress 22 - Asos Curve
We went out for a friends birthday on Saturday night, and to be honest it didn't go very well (it started with me twisting my ankle right at the beginning of the night, ended with me hiding in a corner from a bunch of pervy men at a strip-tease pub, and saw me smashing my beautiful white cats-eye ring while smacking a glass bottle of ketchup in a restaurant in the middle), but hey, at least I got to wear this delicious dress out for the first time! I wear this one backwards because I don't like the actual neckline....not low, not high, just an odd in-between round neck that doesn't do the dress justice. Therefore, I go low! I also had to cut my hair (which I've been putting off for ages) because having a massive knot at the back of my head was becoming my regular hairstyle, and I don't carry a brush, so chop chop! Quite like this length thankfully! I feel like I've bought tons of stuff recently, so hopefully I'll have some nice posts coming up for you soon!

Get on my feet

I've gone totally over the top with the old shoes & boots recently! The surprising thing is that most of them are from places I wouldn't have thought would do good footwear, or places that I normally don't fit, but anyhow, here they all are!
First up, I wanted a black version of my little tan shoe boots, and I've been keeping my eyes peeled. I was chuffed to find these in the asos sale. I ordered the size 8 because I find the sizing of Asos shoes to be insanely small and narrow, so my 6.5 wide feet tend not to fit them.
These are quite a good fit as it goes, and they look lovely on! They're faux leather but feel sturdy enough to last, the only thing I'm keen on is how high up on my heel the back comes up, it rubs.... not too badly, but enough to be a bit annoying! I didn't get blisters, just a bit or soreness! The soles are really quite comfy though, so that's a bonus!
I've been looking at these shoes for ages. I thought they looked like a sensible heel for me (i.e, not very high and quite sturdy!) so again, I ordered the size 8, and I kinda love them.
I am sure they will hurt my feet because all shoes that cut across the foot liek these rub my freaky wide feet like crazy, but I wanted them, so I kept them (not sensible!).
On to Yours Clothings boots! I have to admit to being quite impressed with what I got. These cute little boots were £8, and they've come at a good time since my black boots from Primark have split up with their soles! Totally synthetic so won't last forever, but they feel quite sturdy.
These are wide fit, size 7 (my normal size in boots) and they're pretty comfy. Quite tight on the ankle, but that keeps them in place so it's all good!
These cowboy boots were a surprise to me, mainly because there is some room on my calf! Don't think that's ever happened before with tall boots! These are the XXL width. Before I go any further, for those of you who don't remember my previous post on boots (here) my calf measurements are over 21 inches, and I can pretty much only get tall boots that fit me from Simply Be... most Evans boots don't fit my enormous legs, so these are exciting!
Pro's - Great thick real leather for £20 is a mega bargain, the colour is lovely and the calf is generous. Cons - no grips on the sole so I had to take some scissors to them to scratch them up before I wore them home (would have broken my neck otherwise!) and although these are supposed to be EEE fit they still seem quite narrow. I'm okay in the size 7 but my left foot (my bigger-than-the-other-one foot!) is noticeably more pinched than the right. they're also quite slippery inside, so I will have to put a liner in there - I do that with nearly all my boots anyway to make them more comfy!
Guys I cannot tell you how chuffed I am with these boots..... they are real leather, tall and they only cost £31.20! This is the XXL calf size, and they fit me like a glove!
They're quite tight on the legs, but in a good way that means they shouldn't slip down all the time and will be comfortable to walk in... the soles are better on these and have a bit of grip, plus the elastic at the back make them rather comfy. These are a size 7 and fit me well, but again, they don't feel like an EEE fit in terms of width..... maybe its just the shape of the shoe? Anyway, I'm really happy with these and that's great news because they have a similar pair in black, which finally gives me an alternative to the Simply Be black boots I've wanted, which are faux leather and never in stock! Fingers crossed for a sale on those one day!
I was very naughty and am still feeling rather guilty about buying these Tracey Neuls shoes. Not because I don't like them, but spending £100 on a pair of shoes is not like me at all! I got over excited, but hey, I do love them!
Finally, this is the dress I nabbed in the 99p sale from Yours. It's definitely too short for me to wear as dress (and too tight on the belly!) but it's still kind of cute.
I think I will use it as a top under some of my skirts!

Friday
I can do smart yeah?! I had one of our Trustees visit me on Friday, so I went a bit smart!
Jacket 22 - Marks and Spencers Per Una
Dress 24 - Anna Scholz White Label
Leggings 20 & boots - Primark
I actually put my hair up before she arrived because I didn't want it getting in my face while I was with her!
So that was my morning, then my afternoon was spent frolicking round Shoreditch and spending £100 (madness I know, but couldn't help myself!) at the Tracey Neuls sample sale. I don't really care much about designer shoes because you so often pay huge amounts of money for shoes that wreck your feet and aren't suitable for everyday wear.... fuck that! The reason I adore Tracey Neuls (apart from the unusual designs) is that I can wear her shoes to work without being crippled, which I think is important!
I love these 'Peg' shoes, even more so because there were only a few of the blue version made, the ones on the site are burgundy, and I have loads of shoes in that colour... these are more interesting! They're very comfortable, and I reason that £100 for soft leather, well made shoes with comfortable springy soles is a decent enough investment!
