Wardrobe Fortnight

Although I have been relatively busy, I have in the main been lazy, which is why I missed wardrobe weekly last week. Hey-ho, two for the price of one this time round!

Tuesday
I met my bestie for dinner and theater (Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown - the musical - I don't recommend it even though I adore Tamsin Greig!) so I wore my pretty new dress.
My girl was wearing the same asos dress but in a different print from the standard range!
Dress 24 - Asos Curve
Leggings 20 - South / Very
Boots - Primark

Wednseday
I've had this dress for a while, but it's proper vintage and is therefore thick and synthetic so I had to wait for cold-ass weather before I could wear it!
I like a good granny dress!
Close-up of the print. Ace.
Dress 24 - Vintage (via ebay)
Leggings 20 - Primark
Boots - Yours Clothing

Thursday
Me? In a crop top? On a Thursday?!
I decided to layer up and I didn't want to be too boring with all this black on, so a bit of a crossword seemed like a good idea!
Black turtle neck - cut off an old dress!
Crop top - Very (customised)
Trousers 24 - Yours
Boots - Asos

Friday
 Casual Friday.....
 .... cold Friday more like!
Jumper 20 - Primark
Jeans 22 - Dorothy Perkins
Boots - Crocs

Sunday
Out for a roast dinner with my beau!

Dress 24 - Lovedrobe
Leggings & Cardi 20 - Primark
Boots - Asos

Monday again
You may not know it from my expression, but any day that I'm wearing this dress is a good day!
This is one of the George Graduate collection pieces from when they actually went above a size 20. It's such a shame that they've gone backwards and don't do size 22 & 24 in their special collections :(

Boots - Crocs
Necklace - Primark

Tuesday again
Ooohhh lordy there be some frost on the ground!
Tuesday was day one of the 'I'm 33 now' celebrations, so I wore my newest dress!
I think the pattern on this, and the stretchy jersey, and the long sleeves. It's SO comfy. I do so love a long sleeved jersey dress!
It gave me a good excuse to wear my beloved swarovski meteor earrings that only come out on special occasions.
 Glittery crystals and minerals....
On a jagged rock. Had them for years, still love them!
Dress 24 - So Fabulous via Very
Leggings 22 - Very / South
Boots - Simply Be

Wednesday
BIRTHDAY TIME! I got a juicer and I love it! I tried smoothies for a while, but they give me terrible indigestion if I have them regularly (I guess my gut doesn't like excessive amounts of peel and pulp!) so I wanted to try juicing. So good - I can buy a shed load of fruit and veg from the market for less than the cost of a fresh juice from the shops. I made us a homemade version of Prets Green Goodness and it tasted identical.... but probably only cost us 50p each!
It was so cold on my birthday that it gave me a good excuse to wear my snow boots.
And I like this dress, so I wore it again - I think big chunky boots look best with short, full dresses or skinny trousers, so this was what I went for.
Cute embroidery!
Dress 24 - Asos Curve
Leggings 20 - Primark
Boots - Crocs

Thursday
It's been ages since I wore a jumper over a shirt. I think it's because it reminds me of school, but you know what, I really liked this outfit.
I love my coated jeans from Dorothy perkins - They're very comfortable and are really generous for size 22.
I wore my bespoke Black Heart creatives earrings for the first time this week. they're ace.
 The boots are really old.
I always wanted some Ugg cardigan boots, but they were so expensive and seemed pretty impractical so I got some Bear Paw boots from TK Maxx instead - cardigan legs, suede shoes. the soles aren't as good quality-wise but they're mega snuggly and are big enough to stretch over my huge legs!
Shirt 24 - George
Jumper 20 - Primark
Jeans 22 - Dorothy Perkins
Boots - Bear Paw
Earrings - Black Heart Creatives

Friday
You know, I can't wait for the mornings to get lighter again, then I will be able to see when two colours match!
This was a comfy outfit that I didn't think much about. I just wanted to be warm!
Jumper 20 - Primark
Dress 24 - Lovedrobe
Leggings XL - H&M
Boots - Crocs

Saturday
So I went out with my fella on Saturday and nothing that I had planned to do quite worked out, so I forgot to get any outfit pictures! These shitty snaps will have to do! I'm wearing my old wrap that I've had for maybe 4 years?! I knew they'd come back in to fashion.... they're classic!
We went to Bird in Hoxton and wow we were full afterwards! I've always wanted to try chicken and waffles - some proper soul food! The waffles are spongy and full of flavour and the chicken was really really tasty. the coating was very thin and very crispy.... I have no idea what the coating is made of, but it's not like a normal better, and it's not breaded. It's really really nice and not dripping with grease like some fried chicken I've had in the past. The fries are tiny and addictive crunchy and chewy. the fried pickles are nice but we didn't finish them because there was SO much food! My tip is to order the chicken and waffle burger then split it between two, because as you can see, it's basically two burgers!
Jumper 24 - George / Barbara Hulanicki
Jeans 22 - Dorothy Perkins
Boots - Crocs
Coat 24 - Evans
Wrap - Primark

Not so very fabulous

I tried on my dorothy perkins and very orders and thought meh! To be honest I wasn't expecting much and I've got so many other sale items on thier way from new look and evans (not that any of that order is actually evans own brand!) and I fully intend to do a fucking massive asos curve order after my birthday so I don't really care! Bring on the reviews!

DP first, and I couldn't even get the jeggings on! I don't normally have a problem with jeggings from dp but these are sort of coated so they are way smaller than normal size 22 from dp. Anyone who reads my blog regularly will know that I always have this problem with coated jeans so its no surprise!

The faux leather trousers on the other hand are ace. Very tight but super stretchy which is what I wanted. I didn't want any baggyness like you get with real leather so these are ideal, a bit short but I like ankle biters so that's fine by me. Obviously I'm not going to wear them like this, but with a rock chick top and some heels I think these will work. If any of you want some leather look trousers I genuinely recommend these - still available here in size 16-22 (get your normal size) in the DP sale for £20.

My very order was so disappointing. For one thing the pair of trousers I was really excited about didn't arrive with everything else (the feather print so fabulous cigarette trousers - fingers crossed they come soon) and I couldn't do up two of the pairs of trousers despite ordering the size 24. To be fair the smaller ones were both by 'south' and not the specialist plus size 'so fabulous' so again I was not shocked that they didn't fit. Shame as the pyjama print ones would have been my instant faves.

These South cuffed trousers are comfy and nice for wearing round the house so I'll keep them. They were only & so totally worth it. These are a 24 and although I could have fit the 22 waist-wise but I'm glad I sized up as they are snug on my thighs (everything is always snug on my thighs!). Only cost £7, still available in size 16-24 here.

These south pewter PU 'jeggings' (they so are not jeggings!) are sadly not for me, but fit wise these 24's were surprisingly big on my tummy so a 22 would have been better. My main problem is that the PU makes my legs stick together at the thigh and I can't really walk in them! However if you have smaller thighs than me, then there is something rather David Bowie about these that makes me happy - after all how often can you get metallic skin tight pants up to a size 24?! I reckon Bethany from Arched Eyebrow could pull these off. Only £8 still available in sizes 8-24 here!

This is a pretty skirt for a bargain price. It is much more gold in real life than on the site. I'm not going to wear it to be honest, because it doesn't feel very 'me'. That sounds wanky but its the best way to describe why I'm not keeping it. I recommend it to you guys though, because as shiny skirts go this is pretty cute. This is my normal size 22. Very stretchy and nicely fitted, available here for just £7.50!

More sale posts to come (as soon as it all arrives and I drag it home from work!) xx
