Wardrobe weekly

Monday
I love my midi dresses on hot days!
I hadn't worn this one to work before so it still felt quite new!
Dress18 (sample) - anna scholz
Flip flops - ipanema

Tuesday
Love me a jumpsuit and love plazzo pants in summer. This is a jumpsuit I got last year from George and it feels a bit 70's to me. Love it!
The shoes are not wide fit, but they kind of expand outwards to fit my feet. I'm excited to have some red pointed shoes at last!
Jumpsuit 22 - George
Shoes - Primark
Earrings - Lanzarote

Wednesday
I find it hard to dress for this weather (chilly in the morning, mild in the day and warm in the evening!) so I often end up wearing a blazer type jacket!
Lovely maxi from asos curve last year. It's super dooper long so I decided to add a belt as it shortens it a bit.
Dress 22 - asos curve
Belt - from an old Dorothy Perkins dress
Jacket 20 - TKmaxx
Flip Flops - Ipanema

Thursday
I decided to try out my new denim joggers on Thursday and I'm pleased with them. They're not really denim in my opinion, they're more like a non-stretch cotton sort of deal.
They're thin so perfect for warm weather.  I got the 24 and it's a good job because they're pretty tight on my thighs when I sit down! I enjoy a casual scruffy sort of beach-look in between my dress days!

Friday
I visited the fam to see my sister (who just had her birthday) and her son who turned two on Friday!

It's a bit cooler out west and there was lots of rain so I thought I'd break in my new brogues. Mega comfy! Look at his lush little face would you?!

He can literally run circles around me, but I can be an aeroplane and chase him with bubbles!
We had such a lovely couple of days!

Saturday
I swear all I did on Saturday was eat! I forgot to take outfit pics before I left my folks so I had to take some when I got back to London! I'll tell you about the coat in my upcoming asos post!
I think I have managed to stain this double silk dress in many areas, but it's such a busy print that hopefully I'll get away with it!

Leggings 22 - south / very
Jacket 22 - asos curve

Earrings - h&m (plaited by me!)

Sunday
I just couldn't face getting dressed and going to the supermarket today, so I didn't get dresses and I didn't go to the supermarket. Fixed that problem! I did want some comfort food though so I had a mega cupboard and freezer cooking session. I made coconut milk rice pudding (coconut milk / cinnamon / nutmeg / lemon juice / brown sugar / vanilla extract / paella or risotto rice) which is stodgy and sweet, then used some frozen berries to make a tart sauce to have with it (basics frozen mixed berries / lemon juice / white sugar)
I nearly always have some kind of meat in the freezer because I buy little joints when they're on special offer and chuck them & freeze them for when I'm a) too lazy to go shopping or b) too poor to buy meat!. Comfort food for me is often slow cooked meat and mash potato, so I also always have some frozen carrot and swede mash stashed in there too. I always have frozen cauliflower and broccoli because they come in super handy when I forget to get fresh veg! I defrosted some pigs cheeks I got for a snip at the Morrisons butchers (tender and amazing meat that slow cooks quickly because of the small size!) chucked them in a pyrex dish with a random assortment of things I had in the cupboard (in this case - all spice / ginger / cinnamon / garlic / chilli flakes / dried apricot / dark rum / thyme / blanched almonds / honey / lime juice) put the lid on and cooked them on a medium-low heat for about 3 hours. I roasted some tomatoes in there for the last 30 minutes too, just to add to the veg quota! It was actually really tasty for such a made-up dish! I like a bit of cauliflower and broccoli macaroni cheese as a side dish, partly because if I make a big one then we can have it as a main later in the week. My dad sent me home with some MEGA strong mature chedder and it made such a good cheese sauce!

Anyway, that's pretty much all I did today. I'm off now to watch telly in bed while my boyfriend charts out a some music on his new mac-book (flashy git). We can now sit in the same room while I blog and he composes, it's rather nice!

Wardrobe Weekly

First full week at work in over a month!

Monday
Finally the right weather to wear my crochet dress. Ergh it's so pretty! I got this blue midi dress specially to wear underneath because I wanted a pop of colour and I so love this bright deep blue!
I think it looks nice underneath!
This is the dress in question (matches my shoes... hurrah!) and it's from the standard H&M 'Essentials' range. It's stretch jersey and cost £7.99. Lovely dress in it's own right actually!
Crochet dress 24 - Asos Curve
Blue cami dress XL - H&M
Shoes - Primark

Tuesday
Love this dress. The last time I wore it was around this time last year!
I added the belt for a bit of interest (and for somewhere to hang my work pass!).
Dress 22 - China Via Ebay
Belt - Crazy Clearance
Shoes - New Look

Wednesday
Thank goodness I wore jeans on Wednesday, it was a bit too hot for them really, but I ended up kneeling and sitting on the floor for half my day at work so I'm glad I had these to protect me!
Shirt 12 - H&M
Jeans 24 - Boohoo
Vest 20 & Shoes - Primark
Just randomly, I had dinner at Bukowski Burger. I think their burgers are rubbish and their fries are not great (go to Honest for good burgers and fries if you're in Brixton Village!) but as it turns out, their pulled pork baps and tobacco onions are pretty tasty. What I have known for ages though is that their Dulce de Leche, Coffee & Kahlua milkshake is actual heaven!

Thursday
Like I said when I wore my shooting star Anna Scholz sample dress, you'd see the other Scholz Sample soon, and here it is! Long-term readers would have seen me in this numerous time, but I've still got so much love for it!
My boss thought the colours in this dress made me look really tanned, so that's always a bonus!
Dress 18 - Anna Scholz (sample)
Shoes - Primark

Friday
Finally got round to wearing the crossword top I got from Becky's blog sale a while back.
It was tricky because the fabric is so thin and stretchy, but I just about managed to fill in other bits of the crossword to hide the rather cringe-worth slogan it originally had ('Dare to be noticed'... BLURGH!).
It's totally fabulous now, and got loads of attention.
I'm wearing this over a black maxi dress and it was mega comfy.
I had work, an off-site meeting and then dinner and drinks with some friends and this outfit fit the bill for all of it. It's funny, but I don't often think to wear tops over dresses, but I'm loving this so I might do it more often (it's certainly the only way you'll ever see me in a crop top!).
Top 18 - Blog shop (originally Jamelia Jamil for Very)
Dress 20 - Primark
Flip Flops - Ipanema

Saturday
New Jumpsuit! From George, it's stretch jersey and is super comfortable. I tried the 22 but it was a tad too short for me, so I'm keeping the 24. It's a bit too big for me but I think the looseness makes it look quite chic so I'll get over it! Get it here!

The other new thing in my life is that I will now be wearing glasses for work.... I'll be back soon with a post about that!

Warming up

As the weather gets hotter I need soft and cool sheets and cool clothing, so lets start with the sheets. I have fallen in love with this set from George Home. I simply cannot believe that I managed to get such a soft and lovely King size duvet & pillowcase set in 200 thread count Egyptian cotton for £25! I couldn't bear to change our sheets without another set to go back on so I had to buy a second set. This time round I also got 2 of their fitted sheets to replace my bobbly ones. Love them, they're designed for deep mattresses so they'll fit pretty much any bed. Bargain! Well done George!
When I ordered the sheets I also had to try this little fella. It's so cute and comfy. Non-stretch and super thin summery fabric. Basically perfect for hot weather!
This is a 24 and it's mega generous in the top and tummy department - probably because you have to pull it on and there are no zips or buttons. This is the 24 and body-wise the 22 would have been a better fit, but my big calves meant that the legs would be way to tight in the 22 (they're pretty tight on my calves as it is! Basically if you have small legs and a big bust or belly then this would be a great jumpsuit for you.... it would fit a size 26 if you're calves aren't as big as mine (21 inches!).
Ahh it's so comfy and summery!
I can sit in it very comfortably!
In my never-ending shopping spree recently I went to Primark to get new nets for my windows, and found a 4.5 tog duvet for £8 (half the price of the one I was planning to get from John Lewis!) so they went in my basket and then I wandered into the shoe department.....
MISTAKE! Oh lord I could have come out with more than this! Obviously I had to get the brogues. The 7's were too small for me so I got the 8's.... they're a bit loose but they'll be perfect with socks when it gets colder! The nude sandals are my favourite, they're perfect! I don't know why the red and black shoes fit me (they're not wide fit) but they seem to work because they shape themselves to your feet. The necklace is a winner, I love it!
