A galaxy of prints

I have just ordered the quite spectacular 'Galaxy Pencil Skirt' from Domino Dollhouse. For years I have loved Galaxy prints, and for years I've had problems getting anything that fits me. I have a Galaxy print wiggle dress from Marks and Sparks, but is doesn't have actual PLANETS on like the Domino Dollhouse print!
I didn't go for the skater dress, because I don't think the style would have suited me - but this skirt, ahhhh sexy..... ness! Pockets from heaven! I was so sad when I missed out on the bone print dress from the Urban Mermaids collection (my boyfriends surname is 'Bone' & it amused me!) so I got right in there this time. P's, I used the code RMN10 and got 10% off my order. Not sure if it will still work, but worth a try!

So here is the thing, I keep checking Very all the time to see if this mask print dress has been reduced. I've
wanted it for ages, but  no luck. Sadly it has lead me to snooping at some of their new 'so fabulous' items.
I'm not allowed to buy anything at the moment because of my Domino Dollhouse purchase, but I wanted to
share some of the stuff I think is cool!

I just like moustaches okay?!
I also like star prints!
These trousers are pretty bonkers, and there is a serious camel-toe situation going on, but I think I sort
of love them... I do love scotty dogs so that might be the reason, more so than the cut!
This is my favorite (puts 'A horse is not a home' by Miike Snow on Spotify and considers options!).
There are also a couple of non-patterned items I'm loving - both studded. This dress is sex-on-legs. I love
the detailed neckline.Seems to have a couple of good reviews, but might be too short for me personally!

I imagine this jacket would go with everything.
Thats it, I must stop thinking about clothes now (even though I'm having a bit of an ebay bid-fest at the moment,

and will therefore need to sell some more of my own wardrobe on there very soon!)

Party dress give-away!

I have a dangerous dress obsession which means that I regularly have to have a big clear out… one in, one out as it were! Below are some examples of stuff I've sold on the old Ebay - I haven't got anything up at the moment but if you fancy keeping and an eye on my selling page it's here - I'll tweet when I add new items!
One of the odd things about ebay though, is that some of the items I expect to sell for 99p sell for £30, and others I expect to sell for £30 don't sell at all. This is the case with a lovely Party dress from Next that I had up there. I've had it for years and although it was quite expensive I have never worn it! I want it to go to a nice home - to someone who will appreciate (and wear) it, so I am giving it away to one of my readers (if anyone wants it that is!).
Here is a very rough Plumpparsnip modelling it very badly! The slippers really set the outfit off don't you agree?!
It technically a size 24, but it's a very small 24 and has no stretch so it's actually a size 22. Lovely detailing on the back.
There is a satin lining, with a net overlay and gold glitter polka dots.
Cute pink piping. It's a lovely dress that would be perfect for a Christmas party, and it's quite boobylishious too!
If you want this dress I'll post anywhere within the UK. All you have to do (apart from promise you'll send me a pic of you wearing it to put on the blog - face & name can be left out for privacy purposes if needs be) is leave a message on this post telling me what you would wear the dress to, and what mischief you intend to get up to on said night.... whoever tickles me the most will win the dress!

Ootd -rainy daze

A trip into London today to see my lovely friend required warm clothes that could cope with rain, so nothing too exciting, but my lovely new Samsung galaxy s3 has a decent camera so we took snaps anyway !

After borough market we want to my current favorite London festive spot, Hayes galleria I think it's called (on the river by London bridge station).

I like layers on days like this, so went for some thick primark stirrup leggings, asos curve swan dress, croc boots and an old puffa coat from George. Love their padded coats, so warm!

I came home looking like a drowned rat!

This is the 1st post I've done from my mobile so I've no idea what it will look like - let's see!

What a pile of poo!

There are no words for how excited I was about the 2 new Ruby rocks for Simply Se dresses I ordered recently. When I got them home tonight to try on I was so gutted! I look a bit crazed in these shots - I haven't had a good evening (not just clothes related I promise!).

This dress is okay, but it's so very short! I know Ruby rocks goes in for short dresses, and in a skater style I think it works, but for me this fitted style is just too short.
I'm sure it will float lots of other ladies boats (I probably would have kept it if the skirt was longer) but for me it's too much. low cut AND tight AND short. I might go in for one or two of those things at a time, but all 3 together makes me look and feel too tarty. Not for me! This is a stretch jersey fabric btw.
Oh my lord did this make me angry. This dress is basically a maternity dress.....
.... I'm not saying this because it just happens to emphasise my big belly (yes sometimes I get offered a seat on the train because of it!) but because it has pleats at the side designed for a big pregnant belly!
It's really hard to get a picture which show the pleats......
....but they are there, sewn into the side seams in horizontal lines right on the belly. I'm so disappointed in this, and simply be you should be ashamed of yourselves!  How dare you sell me a dress designed like maternity wear! If this had been in anyway represented on the website images I wouldn't have wasted my postage on it!
This is a rather smooth front for a dress with huge pleats along the side seams don't you think?! I don't want to look like a pregnant lady thank you very much. Oh and it also squished my boobs, despite bieng a size 24! Mutha Funkers! this fabric only has a tiny bit of stretch btw, and it's lined with stretch fabric.

Now then... ASOS curve, not much fuckin' better!

Hands down the worst item I have ever tried from ASOS curve. A travesty! Firstly, it is about fucking time that ASOS sorted out their models. This dress is so clearly pinned to within an inch of it's life on the model (which is why the sleeves look much longer on her) and putting a size 20 on a size 14 model then pinning it is misleading to customers. And don't you DARE try to tell us that your models are a size 20, because we have eyes, and its is a barefaced lie if you do! As far as I'm aware there is not a single plus sized woman who wants to see plus size clothes modelled by slim women. Yes they are all very beautiful, but they don't fit the clothes properly. You must get SO many returns because of this?!
Frumpy. Badly cut. Hugely uncomfortable. If this had been made of thick jersey or Ponte the general style might have worked, but this horrid rigid stretch cotton type fabric is awful. Who designes this shit? I would make a bet that he / she ain't plus sized!
Oh, and did I mention that the belt that comes with is that awful type you find on vintage dresses that feels like it's made of cardboard?! HOW DARE YOU SELL THIS TAT TO ME ASOS! I expect so much more from the Curve collection.
These leggings just aren't for me. I had to crab walk to get this picture, because the noise as the sequins touched between my thighs was dreadful! I kind of thought that these would be thick material - I know they're leggings but they are very thin on the back, which freaks me out when they're so very heavy at the front. I was terrified of trying these on, because they just felt like they could rip at any moment! On the plus side I love the off the shoulder tee-shirt. nice thick fabric, so comfy, and works with all my trousers!
The other thing I was surprised by was that the sequins are much more sparse than they look from far away, I wasn't expecting to see so much netting through them! These look so good on ladies without as many lumps & bumps as me, but from my point of view they are just way too delicate and impractical!
I'm not sold on this top..... I think I'm just not the right shape for big peplums! It's too full at the bottom, and the neck looks a bit odd -  I think that is partly due to the arms being very tight on me.
The other odd thing about this top is that in the summer (when it's quite hot... obviously) the more subtle sleeveless peplum tops from asos (of which I have 2) were made of thick fabric - a bit like a thin ponte, but this winter long sleeved version is extremely thin jersey. I don't like it on me, but I think ladies who are smaller on the top and bigger on the bottom would look good in it - it makes my upper body look massive and my lower body look much smaller - which is definitely not the case!

I won't give up - I know that there are some amazing plus sized clothes out there, but with the exception of the black t-shirt all of this stuff is going straight back to sender!

Shouldn't have looked....

I made the mistake of looking at Asos Curve today. It's amazing what a sale will do to me! Pieces that I skimmed over due to price are now looking mighty fine!
Is this dress cool? I think i'm in love with the utilitarian simplicity, but I'm just not sure if it would look good on me?! I'd certainly be a bit nervous about making a mess of the white shirt. It's reduced to £29, and I'm tempted to try it.....
I love this top, and I've seen it on bloggers so I know how cute it looks in real life. My problem is that I don't know what I'd wear with it. I wear plain trousers less and less these days. And £24.50 is more than I'd normally spend on a top.....
I always wanted this dress, but I'm suspicious as it's been on the site for SO long. I feel like there must have been lots of returns?! Makes me think of Star-trek and I like that. To be fair though I think I'd have to go for the black version because sadly I don't suit mustard. It's only £21 & it looks warm. Thinking thinking...
I've wanted this dress right from it's first appearance but I've been waiting for it to get super cheap. I'm thinking that £31 is as cheap as it's going to get. My problem is that I don't think it would look good with a cardi or jacket, and I never go sleeveless unless on a beach. Hummmm.....
You see I think this shirt looks fabulous. Annoyingly there are no photos on the site showing the front untucked, and as I never tuck anything in I'm not sure it would work untucked? £22 not bad for a proper shirt though....
I just love this t-shirt - it's cute and odd. Seriously considering buying this now its on sale for £11....
This isn't in the sale, but for £35 it's pretty reasonable. It's something I'm having a love / hate relationship with. I just can't decide if I like it or not. I love the white pockets and swing style, but the white arms & short length throw me off. I want to see it on a big girl!
These wont be new to anyone (Both Gabifresh & Myarchedeyebrow have them and look fab) but every time I look at them I think 'my thighs are so big that the sequins would rub off within minutes of me walking around in them'. You know what though, it's nearly Christmas and I like sparkles so now that they're £18 I'm going to order them!
This dress is so cute. Down from £50 to £35. Festive colours, shiny thread.... but it looks so short! I wonder if it's one of those situations where it looks short in the picture but is much longer in real life, like with many of the dresses I've tried from ASOS Curve.....
So the black version of this is in my basket because it is an all rounder go-with-everything kind of top, but there is something really appealing about this nude coloured version. Ummm, £16.....
I tried these tops (black & white) this summer, and decided that the fabric was a too thick and I'd get a bit hot in them. They're down to £8 now and I'm tempted to get some now that it's colder. I do need some plain tops to go with my jeans.....

I'm going to order a few things and get back to you. The most wonderful thing about ASOS is that you get free delivery, and lovely simple free returns via collect+ (avoiding the nightmarish post office is always preferable!), so I'm not scared to make big orders and try stuff out. Decisions decisions....

Perfect party pieces for the festive frivolities!

I'm trying not to misbehave too much spending-wise for the next few months, and I have pretty much all of my festive outfits sorted already. It doesn't stop me appreciating some of the amazing things that are appearing in the plus size fashion world though, so I thought I'd do a special party outfit post in case any of you guys need some inspiration!

First up is a dress that New look bring out every year at about this time. They normally have it in a couple of colours, and the first year it came out I got it in black to wear on New Years Eve. £22.99 bargain!

This is my lovely dress - I completely fell in love with it. I had the red version for a while too (before I sold it after realising that having the same dress in 2 colours when I have nearly 100 dresses is just insane!).

I highly recommend this dress - it's shiny, low cut, nips in the waist while the pleats cover the belly, it's short, it's stretchy, cheap and makes my tit's look like torpedoes! Everything I want is a sexy little black dress.
Sticking with the cheap and cheerful is this bang on trend stud colour block dress from forever 21+. It's body-con and is under £20.
I also like this dress from forever 21+ because it is so very girly. It is sparkly and a-line making it look cute and innocent, but the nude colour just makes it feel a bit naked which I always think is super sexy. £22.75.
Love this £35 dress from Queen of Holloway. Not sure I need to sell this one - it's clearly amazing!
What a saucy little number from Asos! In the sale for £31.50.

I really like this dress, I think it's simple but the detailing make it a bit unusual. AX curve via New look £38.
I think this dress from Very 'So Fabulous' would be really good for a smart work party. It's structured but is still smart and sexy. I think it's a ball buster dress! £39.
This Ruby's Closet dress from the new look website would look super sexy on. It's got the ruching that you get on much more expensive dresses (like the ones you'll see further down) but it's only £42.
I like the print on this dress. A frock for a cool girl I think! Simply be £55.
This is a rock chic dress if I ever saw one! Personally PU makes me sweat just looking at it, but if you can hack it then I reckon this would be a winner! Simply be £55.
I want this dress for myself. I've loved these floaty swing dresses ever since I was a little girl, and this one is prefect to me. Nude with lovely Tim Burton-esque black spindly flowers. I'm having this if it goes on sale! Asos £65.
The prices are going up now! I adore flapper style dresses, and this one looks amazing in the pictures. I'd like to see it on a regular plus size gal! Simply be £85.
Again - Flapper! I think I like the black version of this best, but this model is so lovely I wanted to use this picture! Simply Be £88.
There are no words for how hot these Kiyonna Betsy dresses are. I have this in black and it's my work Christmas party dress this year. Pricey, but worth it! The ruching looks fabulous, and I do so love red dresses. £105 from Curvety.
Another Kiyonna dress from Curvety. The boudoir lace dress is one that has been on my wish list for ages. I love the deep neckline and mocha colouring! £108.
Stepping up another price notch, here is one of the current Anna Scholz dresses that I'm coveting. Jersey gathered panel dress in dark forest print. Look at it for gods sake! Utterly delicious. £259.
Do you have more money than sense?! This Roberto Cavalli dress (via Navabi) might be for you then! If I were going to a very cool party (at a modern art gallery for example!) then this would be the dress I'd want to wear. It's so friggin' cool. If only my bank balance could cope with the £392 price tag!
This is the dress of my dreams. Anna Scholz again, double silk corset dress in Galaxy print. At £395 I think it's fair to say that this will never be mine. Even if it goes on sale I think it would still be out of my reach, but a girl can dream!
For those of you who may be thinking 'I don't wear dresses', then there are a few items I'm loving. These forever 21+ trousers are epic. You'd certainly get noticed in these!  £19.75.
I'd want something fairly plain and simple with such loud trousers, but for parties I'd want a bit of sparkle. Loving this top from New Look for £19.99!
Last but certainly not least is this glitter-tastic top from ASOS Curve (£35). It would look amazing with trousers or a skirt, and I'm fairly sure that nobody could out-shine you if you were wearing this!

There you have it. My suggestions for top-notch festive party outfits!

P's, if you like any of the brands that New Look inspire sells, make sure to check the ebay shop 'my pretty plus' because they sell the same stuff for half the price! xx
