Wardrobe Weekly

Monday
I left my bag on for this pic because it's new to me. It's old really, and it was my mums. I've been wanting to steal it for years, but never did because it has a short strap and I always wear either messenger bags or backpacks. When I went home last week I saw it hanging in the utility room with green corrosion all over the metal elements I decided I would just take it and replace the short strap with one of my long ones. Love it now. It's super thick punched leather which squeaks when I open it!

Tuesday

Wednesday
I finally took my Bab's Hunalicki biba style smock shirt out of the wardrobe!
 Very 70's pointy collar!
This is a great shirt if you feel a bit meh... also good if you want to wear a pair of super tight trousers but don't want a obvious muffin-top!
 Shirt 24 - George
Capri jeggings 22 - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - New Look

The size 26 version of the dress I tried a while back finally arrived, but although it fit well, I'd had too long to think about it by the time it turned up, and I decided against it.... partly because I just bought some other things, partly because I have loads of shirt dresses now and partly because I'm not mad for the colours. If this pattern was bright rather than a bit brown then I would have kept it! Size wise this 26 was perfect for me btw.

Thursday
I plaited my hair in the morning, but when I put this dress on I knew I needed something more ladylike....
..... So I just pinned them back.....
 .....and added a flower!
 Dress 24 - George
Leggings 20 - Primark
Flower hair clip - Primark
Shoes - charity shop
I enjoyed having this WW2 style hair-do, and a little boy called me a princess so maybe I should make the effort more often?! Next thing is to try and learn how to do a fishtail braid (doubt I'll manage it when I can't do a French plait though!)
My boyfriend got a promotion so he treated me to dinner at Gaucho. The steak was just divine, but the pudding.... oh lordy!

Friday
Again this is a first wear for this dress, it's been waiting for milder weather.
I wore my double chain earrings (which I keep forgetting about!) to make this girly dress a bit more funky.
 Dress 26 - Lovedrobe
Belt XL & leggings 20 - Primark
Loafers & earrings - New Look

Saturday
I went to Caravan for Brunch with my best mate (and her husband & baby girl!) to celebrate her birthday, and decided to wear this vintage dress.
I added my red mac (the sun was shining before I left the house) and then proceeded to freeze my tits off wandering round Kings cross. Brrrr!
I wore some square hoops to match the diamond pattern on the dress.
Dress 24 - Vintage via ebay
Leggings 20 & earrings - Primark
Shoes - Asos
Coat 24 - George

Sunday

I cleaned the bathroom and now I'm making a cake, no photos necessary!

  1. Fishtail braids actually aren't that much more difficult to do than regular braids and I'd say they're way easier than French braids. It's a similar technique to regular braids, but rather than dividing the hair into three portions and crossing them, you divide it into two parts and take small strands that you cross from one side to the other. I can't quite explain but just look for a tutorial on youtube and you'll see. (I used to think it was hard too. Also I'm saying this as a person that's definitely not very good at styling my hair in general.) Btw, cute outfits as always.
