Asos with a hint of New Look

Happy Birthday to meeeeee! I decided that even though I wasn't going anywhere, that was no reason not to get dressed up. I knew this dress would be mine. It cost an arm and a leg (even on sale and with a discount code on top!) But I am famously a Rose Gold obsessive and have been for about 20 years! That's right. I loved Rose gold before it was fashionable or easy to buy. Honestly, I used to order big rose gold plated hoop earrings from from a company based in America! Ahhhh Silvershake used to sell the best huge hoop earrings, I was devastated when my massive rose gold ones broke after years of wear. Never found any as big or thick that don't cost a small fortune. I can't fathom why they stopped selling their XL hoops but anyway. That was a lovely lil' trip down memory lane huh?!

What I'm trying to tell you is that the moment I saw this dress I knew it would end up in my wardrobe. It had to be mine. Technically its a rosy blush pink dress with a metallic silver coating, but as you can see, the over all effect is rose gold and its lush. Totally lush! This is the 24 and it's a good fit. Biggest size they do annoyingly. Okay if you wear a bigger size but have a smaller waist than bust and hips - which are both pretty free-size - but the waist isn't stretchy.

I felt very glamorous in this, even though I had an eye infection at the time so couldn't wear eye makeup (always a dark lippy to compensate in such circumstances!)

This is one of those tops that will come in super handy in spring. It's stretchy and soft Jersey. Generous in size. Love the sleeves!

These were in the mens section, but they CALLED to me! The wide fit in my normal size turned out to be bloody perfect!

Normally when I try mens boots from asos they're way too small on the ankle. These are tight but also stretchy so they work. They're also rather hard to get off lol, but they'll be better after a few wears I reckon!

The sole is so bouncy and comfy. Mould to the foot really well. The toe is obviously awesome and the width is great.

Also available in other colours. In fact, if you don't need a wide fit, you can get these in a fabulous pastel green or hot pink. Both of which I was pissed about not being able to get in wide fit!

This is the size 24. Ridiculous. Nice soft and flowing fabric (the kind that shrinks in the wash!) But really. Doesn't work for me! Fyi, I ordered a 20 for comparison but it was too short in the body and a nightmare to get into. It still looked clownish.

Errr yes please! I am digging Asos making stretchy and comfy jumpsuits that I can relax in!

In the sale and super cheap right now. So comfy. Really loved this. Can sit crossed legged and everything! This is the 24 and I wouldn't go smaller due to having to pull it on over my big bum. Not sure the seams are strong enough!

Does draw attention to the old vag but I care not! Oh one thing to mention. Asos keep describing this fabric as textured jersey. That's misleading as it is not a soft and comfy fabric like jersey. I've never felt Jersey like this and I don't think anyone would think this felt like jersey. It's a bit rough. Not so much as to be uncomfortable, but certainly a bit scratchy compared to regular Jersey.

Off Piste #5

New look sale. They've really improved their curve selection (in my humble opinion!) online. Sadly instore it's the same selection of bad quality black trousers and shitty t-shirts, that helps the company argue plus size sections don't sell on the high street (GRRRRR!). I got 3 nice things, so here they are....

Size 26 and perfect. Typically it's to cold for this at the moment, but I love a playsuit about the house in hot weather! Non stretch fabric but well proportioned and super comfy. Not insanely short on the legs, which seems unusual for playsuits, and has adjustable length straps. Would be ideal for holidays (WHAT ARE THOSE?!). I haven't allowed myself to buy the other version too, but it looks like it's the same cut, just in a different print! Want it.

I had my eye on this for aaaaggggggeeeessss. I specifically wanted the yellow one, because I don't have enough yellow in my wardrobe even though it brings me a lot of joy! Size 26, non stretch and nice and loose. It's cute, even if it is a bit too cold to wear this too!

I think it makes me look like I'm in little house on the prairie or something, but hey, nowt wrong with dressing like a lil' lady on the farm now and again! The yellow version seems to have sold out, but they still have a black version.

I think this is a bit of a mum dress. Again, nowt wrong with that. It's a size 26 and is well structures and fitted but not too tight. Comfy, cute, long! Would be a maxi on most women I think. Just about a midi on me.

I don't have many blue dresses so this felt like a good addition to my collection.

And now I'm off to list more things on ebay because I've got too many friggin' clothes!

Off Piste #4.

 Let's start with the bad.....

I read the review for these jeans from Simply be and it said they were too small. So I ordered the 28. And they were too small. Uncomfortably and horribly small. Once, again.... a size 28 was too small. Ridiculous! For some reason I hadn't clicked that they had a big old seam down the middle of each leg, so even if they had fit I'd have sent them back. I don't like lines down my legs, they never sit straight thanks to my big thighs!

I've wanted a shirt like this for yonks! I've tried a few and they've never been quite right. often they're oversized at the top but taper so much that they're then tight on the belly and top of bum, which totally ruins the chic casual look I want!

This is a 26 (always need a 26 in new look non-stretch tops, ALWAYS!) and it's bang on. perfect with skinny jeans, and if you don't like to have a visible belly.

I own a lovely coral coloured top / t-shirt from new look that is very similar to this one, and I love it. It looks lovely tucked into jeans or skirts, so getting a black one seemed to be a sensible decision. A bargain and super comfy!

This is a size 24, but it's pretty generous up top and I'd have been good with a 22 (jersey stuff at new look seems to be cut very big, non-stretch stuff cut small?!). It's so soft and lovely. Highly recommend it!

This is the reason I made a new look order in the first place. It honestly astonishes me that it is so hard to find tops like this that are actually a sensible length! Normally they're mini-dress length or too short to cover my belly. Both lengths don't suit me! so I was pretty thrilled that NL came up with this beaut of a top!

Perfect for super tight jeans, or for when i'm not in a IDGAF if my belly is on display day (which I have sometimes, 'cause I can't always be arsed with people staring at me in shock, lol!). This is a 26 and feels like a 24, but that's pretty standard for New Look Curve I find. Very cute an wearable.

Obviously I was gonna get the leopard print version too, wasn't I?! Same design, same size. I think it feels a tiny bit bigger than the green floral version, but to be fair, I had been wearing it all day so it might have loosened up a bit. I find this sort of fabric often does (non-stretch, thin, soft flowing fabric.... or viscose as it's otherwise known!)

Love this sort of top. super wearable and flattering. I ended up pining the bust as it does like to open up a bit if bending over or sitting down! I don't need to tell any of my readers about that though, I'm sure you all know that wrap over tops and dresses almost always end up with a safety pin between the norks, right?!
