Ootd colour blockin'

Simple work ootd today, but nice and smart.

The thick jersey style of long straight peplums are the only ones I can pull off, and thank goodness as they work so well with trousers!
These trousers are WIDE! Love the ridiculous amount of fabric in them!
In all honesty I wouldn't normally wear flats with such long trousers, but I knew I'd be on my feet loads today so I just had to wear something comfy!
My chanel necklace is maybe 10 years old and is a remnant of the days when I actually saved up my money to spend on ridiculously overpriced designer accessories.... I guess it was an investment as I've had it for so long! Technically its a chain belt but I knew it wouldn't go round my waist and always intended to wear it as a necklace.
Cardi - old from dorothy perkins
Top - old from asos (size 22)
Necklace - very old Chanel
Plazzo trousers - h&m plus (size 28 apparently! )
Shoes - crocs
Oh, and my re-discovered old favourite - My moonstone ring (well, glass made to look like moonstone, although it might be some kind of agate!) which I got from the Ipswich museum shop a while back. I love it when I find old treasures while having a clearout!

A quick one!

You've already seen this Queen of Holloway dress but it was my OTTD for work today. It's so comfy. I felt amazing in it!

Can't believe I chopped my feet of in these pics when I was actually wearing heels!
I did attempt to take a daylight picture but it's so piggin' grey again so it's super dark!
I had my little Clarks Originals on today.....
Here's my work selfie so you can see them with the outfit.... they're so cute, I love them.... I also have them in neon pink!
So then, some little red accents to match the buttons on the dress; My favourite old Eyeko lip crayon - from the days when they had the manga/anime theme, I don't think their new incarnation does them sadly :(. Also a pair of Primarni earrings with red apples on.

It's been a good day, and now it's time for Have I got News for You in my fluffy dressing gown (bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr!).

Best of Twitter

It occurred to me the other day that some of the people who read my blog might not follow me on twitter (or be on it at all) and as I regularly post (terrible!) pictures of my outfits on there I thought I'd do a super quick post featuring my favourite outfits that haven't appeared on the blog. Nothing to read, just pictures.... yey! xx

Sunday girl

So today is just a no makeup, stay at home and make a pie kind of day. Its also a day spent watching parks and recreation with my beloved so I've not even switched on my pc.... hence the terrible pictures! I quite enjoy wearing nice shoes around the house so I've got on my j-shoes. I love thier shoes and these happen to match today's jumpsuit. Not only have I photographed myself without makeup, but also sitting down. One of the problems with bieng fat is the massive rolls that appear when sitting down (and how tight clothes become!). I sort of feel like once you've come to terms with how you look when you look your biggest, you're going to be able to completely accept your body. So here I am, a woman completely at ease in her own fat body!. Terrible light today so its flash or grainy darkness... I went with both!

Jumpsuit is an old one from Very (I think it was a south one) non-stretch size 24 long. Love that it look like a propper old school jumpsuit,  a bit safari-ish!
Shoes j-shoes, cardi primark. Xx

OMG OMG OMG!

My 2 new dresses from Queen of Holloway arrived today, and I am so bloody excited!

As you can see this first dress is super tight on my waist (well, the bit above my belly, which I call my waist!). It's supposed to be a size 24 (4XL) but it's much smaller than normal QOH dresses - still generous on the bust though....

The thing is I feel like a little sex siren in this dress, and as it's a good length so I'm considering folding and sewing it under the bust to raise the wider section of the skirt up to my waist - I need to shorten the halter strap too, or I'd be in danger of showing my boobs to everyone! What do you think ladies? I's it worth me customising or should I just sell it?! Returns aren't really an option as they come from China!

Now on to something a little more classy!
HOW FUCKING AMAZING IS THIS DRESS?!

Oh my god I was excited when this arrived on the site, but I was in RAPTURES when I tried it on!
It's such a good fit - size 24 / 4XL and is quite generous and more stretchy than anything I've had from QOH before. I am so in love!

I have nothing else to say, I'm just going to sit and stare at it for a while!

Queen of Holloway website is a bitch to navigate so the red polka dot dress is here, the black striped dress is here xx

Jumping for joy!

I love jumpsuits. I seriously would not have said that 5 years ago.... it's possible that jumpsuits are better designed with big women in mind nowadays, but it's probably because I'm at the height of my confidence clothes-wise too. I've always been a sort of 'I'll wear what I want' kind of gal, but in the last few years I've wanted to wear things that I just wouldn't of considered a few years ago. Bodycon dresses are a good example of this change, but I would have struggled to get a bodycon dress in my size a few years back, and my size 22 body in a size 18 bodycon dress is not a look I like! I guess jumpsuits are the same really, they suddenly came into fashion so plus size retailers had to start making them, and I had to start loving them! I have quite a few (you'll see them all this summer I'm sure!) because I feel strangely comfy in an all-in-one. I tend to think that because of my odd double belly that trousers with a top attached is actually more flattering than two separate pieces. It's certainly easier to put outfits together when it's all in one, and it's trousers so no chafing! What I'm getting at is that when it gets really hot I'm most comfortable in a lightweight jumpsuit, because I have to wear shorts under my dresses to prevent chub rub, and I walk too much nowadays to use any kind of cream (I can't be reapplying it on the tube!). I love my jumpsuits and I don't care who knows it!

Here is my joyous face, depicting my excitement about my new jumpsuit. You may remember last year my disappointment at the asos curve jumpsuit with the green crossover neck and black trousers (post here). I really loved how smart it was, but I couldn't sit down in it, even after sizing up so I had to send it away... wah wah! Today it was wiped from my memory by this...
.... I may not look excited but I am! This jumpsuit is from George and cost £18 (here). I feel a bit Joan Collins in this, like I could make a scathing remark to an enemy while drinking Cinzano, and then just walk away with a wicked grin on my face!
My flash doesn't really show up the details but you can see how full the plazzo pants are, and the elasticated ruching across the waistband. Nice messy paint stroke vibes to the bodice which I love too.
It's not at all stretchy (apart from the waistband) so I was sure I wouldn't get into the size 22, but once I got the hang of pulling it right up and going through the left arm first etc its actually okay to get in and out of, and fits like a dream!
I still think it's odd that it has no zips or buttons for getting in and out, but I guess it makes it softer and more comfy!
For me it's perfect because the legs are nice and long, and the body is exactly the right length - not so short that it goes up my lady-bits, but not so loose that the top of my thighs chafe  Lovely wide plazzo pants... it makes me feel LIKE A BOSS! This will be a dream when it gets hot again... I'm gonna wear it with my lightweight blazer and take charge!

Basically I recommend it! Can't wait to break out all my other jumpsuits, I hope to see some of you guys frolicking in them too!

Celebrity at the airport!

I totally forgot to do my diva Friday post.... this week my Friday outfit was a bit of a classic look that reminded me of the Victoria Beckham's of this world, who arrive at the airport with heels and blazers looking all business-like!
This was 1st thing in the morning before I got my shit together, and I will blame the odd expressions on that!
I love blazers but I rarely find ones that I feel comfortable in (or that really suit me!) and in truth all my favorite blazers are stretchy. I like them tight on the arms because it give a better silhouette  but if they're tight on the arms and not stretchy then they just look and feel odd!

Snap from work to show the lovely way the lining has black inside so I can turn the sleeves up etc. I got this jacket a couple of years ago in TKmaxx (back when they had a proper plus size section!) and I love it 'cause it's a bit unusual! How much do I love my new Dorothy Perkins capri jeggings btw?!
Jacket - Simon Jeffery via TKmaxx
Top - Primark
Jeggings - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Tracey Neuls 'Ubar' (similar here)

The shoes are Tracey Neuls. I'm not normally a fan of designer shoes because they're so damn uncomfortable and have ENORMOUS heels! But I have a massive soft spot for Tracey Neuls....

.....yes they are super expensive, but the quality is amazing, and they are probably the most comfortable heels I've ever owned. Her designs are generally pretty original too, and I love quirky shoes nearly as much as I love comfort! Basically I wait for the sales like I do with all the designer fetishes I have! When the correct occasion is upon us I will show you my other TN shoes - I call them my white dragons and they're pretty bonkers!

Of course a 'celeb at the airport' look wouldn't be complete without a huge pair of specs, so here are a pair of my Vintage Christian Dior sunnies. I'm selling my other pair here in my blog shop if you want some vintage Dior for yourself!
